    Blurry images

    Posted by: little_paprika Sep 30, 2018 at 08:24 (6 months ago)
    Hello,
I was wondering why the thumbnails of my website look blurry on mobile. I tried uploading a bigger size or resolution but it keeps happening. It looks fine on desktop and then it seems grainy and blurry when on mobile. I uploaded a 170x170 image. There's an image of the area affected attached, it looks sharp taken from the computer, but checking that same area on the phone you will see it blurry.
Please let me know what's the best way to avoid this, thank you.
    Cirma

    Hello @little_paprika,

I think you should edit your image in Appearance > Customizing > WooCommerce > then edit image there.
Please do it then tell me the result

    Regards,

Hi, I think you are referring to another issue, that didn't fix it, because I am not using a wooCommerce section, I am using an Ovic icon box, it allows you to use an image instead of an icon, so that's my image, a 170x170 image, like i said It looks fine on desktop and then it seems grainy and blurry when on mobile. Can you please tell me how to fix that problem?
    Thanks

    Hello,

This issue was updated in version 1.0.2. So please update theme to solve this.

On this version, we create the box to let you add the custom image size for your image for this shortcode. Your image size is small so in mobile version, it is blurrry

Pls update then tell me your result

Hello, I have updated ayvo theme to the version 1.0.3 so I can see there are two boxes for height and width. However after several tests, the mobile version is still looking blurry. I have tried adding a 200x200px picture and then telling it the size I want 170x170 to see if that way it didn´t compromise the quality and I also tried adding the exact size of the image 170x170 and definining the same in the boxes, but it all looks the same, blurry.
I should be able to add a small image since this is an icon box, icons are not suppossed to be big images, so I am not getting why it´s expanding the image if I am setting it to the real size of 170px.

    My coder checked your images.

Your original image size is 150x150 so when you upload on site, it is of course shrinked. You should select the other images with the larger sizes (may be 2000x2000) then upload and re-generate with the customize size in Woo http://prntscr.com/lchcsp

Try with this and you will have the best appearance

I am not using a wooCommerce section, I am using an Ovic icon box, it allows you to use an image instead of an icon, so that's my image, a 170x170 image and it look blurry on mobile. My image is not 150px and I have inspected it and like I said it's 170px it shouldn't look blurry.
I also used a 200x200 image and it also looked blurry so stop saying that the size it's teh issue.
I am not going to upload a 2000px image for an icon, that's ridiculous, that's really bad user experience and if the size matches the css it shouldn't have to be bigger than the actual size.

I am not using a woocommerce section, why do you keep sending me tutorials or tips for woocommerce. Do you even read my messages? I am a web designer, I know how to check pixels, if you had read carefully my two last messages you would have seen that I already checked pixels and the inspector tells me the image has a right size and proportion.
I want this ticket to be handed by another person, clearly you are not even reading my issues.

hI Kazim, I have just done that and the 300 x300px image (see attachment) still looks blurry on mobile compared to the slider. Can you check it in a mobile device? is not as sharp.

I have checked and found that it's better. Also, you can replace to image's dimension 400,500,..px and run the Regenerate Thumbnails plugin again

This hasn't solved my problem. I am using an icon box, you are supposed to upload small images, the icon in the examples of the template is no bigger than 150px, and that does not look blurry.
I already tried using a bigger image, a 550x550px image now, but obviously I need to make it fit my design so when seen in 170px is blurry .
